Pack list
The staff of Airsoftderrs have played a lot of airsoft (including three Megawars) over the past few years. Here's some recommendations from our experience.
- DON'T FORGET your waiver and field registration form!
- Primary weapon (Suggest an AEG with 350-420 fps)
- Backup weapon (This includes a secondary weapon to carry with you --like a gas pistol--and an extra rifle in case something happens)
- Batteries and charger for your gun and back-up gun
- Extra batteries. (Standard 8.4v 1100MaH batteries typically only last about 3hrs, so get an extra one or two)
- BBs. Biodegradable ONLY (earth tones--black, brown, dark green, dark grey--also acceptable. Snipers with .30g and higher weight BBS are exempt)
- Lots of BBs (Depending on how you play, you may need btwn 5000-10,000rds)
- Nerf weapons (swords, maces, and missile firing weapons...don't bring "normal" nerf guns--they're useless)
- Tennis balls (These can be used as "grenades" for most or all of the events this year)
- Food and Water is BYO so plan accordingly
- Camping supplies for Friday night
- Bug spray
- Flashlight
- Walkie-Talkie radios (and extra batteries)
- Back-Pack/ Field-Pack for all your gear. You don't want to be that guy who leaves his team to go reload
- Ducktape and some basic tools are often handy
- Gloves
- Boots
- Knee pads
- Face mask
- Eye protection
- Hand sanitizer
- Small first-aid kit
Did you know? You can use tennis balls as "grenades" for some (or all) of the events at Megawar 2014.
